My Bio

I am a licensed Naturopathic Physician who would be honored if you chose me to be YOUR DOCTOR. I received my Naturopathic Medical Degree from the nationally accredited Naturopathic Medicine School at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut in a four-year full time program with over 1,200 hours of clinical experience.

Prior and during attending Naturopathic Medical School, I owned Passiflora, a local, organic cafe, tea room and herbal apothecary for 16 years in New Hartford CT. In this business, I combined my passions of “food as medicine”, botanical medicine, education and building community. I still retain my commercial kitchen at my home property in order to integrate personalized “food as medicine” into my Naturopathic Medical Practice. When I was in high school, my father was ahead of the time in taking out our front yard and installing a large organic vegetable that shaped how I viewed food, vegetables and nutrients for the rest of my life.

A diversity and depth of educational and life experiences brought me to the door of Naturopathic Medicine. This life-long learning will continue as science continues to evolve, and I plan on learning each day. I do not take lightly the challenging responsibility of being a “doctor”, The root derivation of this word is  “docere” meaning to teach, thus, I view part of my responsibility to be education of my patients on their own personal journey to “wellness”. This entails time, listening, thoroughness and presence.

My undergraduate degree is from Barnard College/Columbia University in Psychology/Biology, which shapes to this day guiding patients in the links between physical and mental health.

In addition to this education, I received my MBA from Columbia University and worked in various capacities as a Strategic Marketing Professional for 20+ years. As part of this work experience, I was trained in qualitative market research and interviewing, which informs my practice in in-depth intakes with patients. I have completed course work for an MS in Nutrition at the University of Bridgeport; studied Herbalism with the renowned herbalist David Winston for 3 years; completed Ayurvedic Lifestyle Certification (at Kripalu Yoga Center in Lenox MA) and am about to complete Homeopathic Certification with the New England School of Homeopathy (NESH).

I am passionate about the body’s natural ability to be vital and well, and to restore homeodynamics after it is thrown out of balance by all the stressors of illness and/or day to day living. I am the proud mother of 5 children and 5 grandchildren. I love yoga, walking in nature, libraries and museums and my amazing local community. I was raised in Watertown CT and am honored to be able to offer Naturopathic Medicine in an area of the country where I feel strong roots.
