Karen Tyson

Welcome

If you want to be treated as a unique whole person in your  medical care, you have arrived at the right place. It would be an honor to be your doctor.

As a licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor, I  welcome women, men and children (3+ years old) who desire personalized, patient-centered medical care. I treat both acute and chronic imbalances.

I take seriously the root meaning of the word 'doctor' which means 'teacher.' I take the time to share my knowledge with my clients, both in the clinical setting and through my community events and newsletter.

Being a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) means the focus is going to be on you as a whole person and getting to the root cause of health imbalances to help restore your body's natural state, wellness.

The emphasis will be on helping your body be well naturally, operating in the sweet spot between science, ancient wisdom, natural wellness and common sense.

You have arrived, take a breath, and re-imagine what medical care looks like.

If you are intrigued by this approach, read on….

In this way, you can discover if Naturopathic and Functional Medicine and my practice is the best match for you on your path to wellness.

Conditions I Work With

As a Naturopathic Medical practice, I am in a “general practice”, treating both chronic and acute diseases and imbalances in females, males and youth (3 + years old).

I recognize that you are a lot more than your symptoms. My goal is to get to the “root” of your problem, restore wellness and vitality and prevent future disease. Below is an overview of some of the key conditions that I treat.

Women's Care

Empowering, Educating, Listening…Women’s Healthcare Re-imagined. I take a comprehensive and empowering approach with natural treatments for a wide range of women’s healthcare, including menstrual cycle re-balancing, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, pre-conception planning, and transitioning to menopause

Children's / Youth Care

Guiding your whole family to optimize wellness through “food as medicine”, botanicals, lifestyle, exercise, stress reduction and sleep hygiene.  Create a natural family “food and holistic medicine chest”. The health of the child is inextricably linked to the health of the family: “food as medicine”, lifestyle, botanicals, exercise, stress reduction, and sleep hygiene.

Endocrine Imbalance

Helping you to restore metabolic, thyroid and adrenal balance with comprehensive labs, functional testing and treatment plans. In order to create a personalized plan for you, I do a thorough work-up in order to understand how best to modify food, nutrition, and lifestyle to restore you to optimal endocrine system balance.

Brain / Mind Health

Your mental health is linked to your physical health, nutrition (gut health), lifestyle, and sleep hygiene. In this age of anxiety, let Naturopathic Medicine with its rich “toolbox” and botanical medicine apothecary remove obstacles to feeling well mentally, emotionally and psychologically.

Chronic Health Issues

Heal, Re-Balance and Prevent with comprehensive lab and functional medicine testing and treatment plans to unwind disease processes and remove “obstacles to cure” in ubiquitous chronic health conditions.

Gastroinstestinal Imbalances

The “root to good health”  is a healthy gut, rich in friendly bacteria, low in inflammation supported by whole foods nutrition. So many of our imbalances begin in the gut

Cardiovascular Health

Let’s dig deeper than cholesterol to support your cardio-vascular system, creating a long and vital "health-span". Your true cardiovascular and metabolic health relates to more than your cholesterol number.

Personalized Skin Care

The health of our skin is often a reflection of our gut microbiome and out liver health. We work on the inside out to heal the skin.

Neurological Health

Headaches, from tension to migraines, the neurological and long-term effects of Lyme disease and viral illnesses, and recovery from concussions, are all disorders that benefit from Naturopathic Medical care.
